About the RRB NTPC uploads

CEN 06/2026 is the Railway Recruitment Boards' graduate-level NTPC drive for 3,548 posts: Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist and Senior Clerk cum Typist. The only image you upload is your signature, signed in running hand with a black pen on white paper and scanned at 100 DPI or more. Your photograph is not uploaded; the form captures it live through a laptop webcam or your phone's front camera. This notice is stricter about that live photo than older ones: a pure plain white background, plain dark clothing that covers your shoulders and chest, your head filling at least half the frame, nothing below the chest in view, and eyes fully open. The captured photo is matched against the photo ID proofs you give, so verifying your identity with Aadhaar or DigiLocker while creating your account makes the later checks smoother.

No photo upload: RRB captures a live photo in the form.

*The notice fixes the KB range but not an exact pixel size, so the tool uses a suggested default that fits the range.

How to resize your RRB NTPC signature

  1. The RRB NTPC size is already selected above.
  2. Upload a scan or clear phone photo of your signature on white paper.
  3. Drag and zoom so your signature fills the frame. Use Rotate if it is sideways.
  4. For the signature, keep Clean background on so the paper turns pure white and the ink stays dark.
  5. Press Download JPG. The result shows the exact pixel size and KB, within the RRB NTPC limits.

Tips so your RRB NTPC upload is not rejected

  • Pointing the camera at a printed or on-screen photograph instead of your own face gets the application summarily rejected.
  • A live photo with closed eyes, a cap, mask, spectacles, or hair or cloth covering the face is liable to be rejected.
  • The signature is rejected if it is in block or capital letters, in non-black ink, on a non-white background, or replaced by a thumb impression.
  • At the CBT you write the self-declaration paragraph and sign in front of the invigilator; writing it in advance or signing in capitals leads to rejection.
  • Sign in black ink inside the space, and do not sign in capital letters unless the notice allows it.
  • Open the downloaded file once to check it looks sharp before you upload it to the portal.

RRB NTPC signature FAQs

What is the signature size for RRB NTPC?

700 × 400 px, 30–49 KB, JPG. The notice fixes only the KB range, so the pixel size is our suggested default. Sign with a black pen on plain white paper and keep "Clean background" on.

What happens if my live photo does not match my ID proof?

The live photo goes through validation and matching against the photo ID proofs you submit. If it does not match, you download the photo-mismatch certificate (Annexure VIII) from the online application after confirming the declarations, get it signed by a Gazetted Officer, and upload it as proof of identity.

Can I retake the live photo or fix my signature later?

You can preview the captured photo and retake it as many times as you like until you submit the application. After that, corrections are possible only in the modification window, 09 to 18 Nov 2026, on paying a non-refundable fee of Rs. 250 each time. Details in the Create an Account form and your chosen RRB can never be changed.

Which photo do I need on exam day and at document verification?

For the CBTs, DV and medical exam, carry a colour passport photograph not older than two months, along with an original photo ID such as Aadhaar, voter ID or PAN. If you are shortlisted for DV, you also upload true-colour scans of your photo and signature on oirms-ir.gov.in/rrbdv before your DV date.

Why is there no photo upload for RRB NTPC?

The RRB NTPC notice says the candidate's photograph is captured live during the application or exam process, so only the signature needs to be uploaded. Follow the instructions on the official portal for the live photo.

How do I check the size of my file before uploading?

The result box under the preview shows the exact pixel size and file size in KB. On a phone you can also open the file details in the Files or Gallery app. On a computer, right-click the file and open Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac).

What if my file is smaller than the minimum KB?

Small images can come out below the minimum even at full quality. This tool then adds a harmless comment block inside the JPG so the file reaches the minimum size, while the picture stays exactly the same.
