A worksheet maker that writes new questions every time

Most worksheets you find online are fixed PDFs. Once a child has done one, you need another, and the answers are often missing or sit behind a sign-up. This worksheet generator works differently. You pick the class, subject and chapter, and it writes a new sheet from scratch: fresh numbers for maths and fresh words for Hindi, each time with its own answer key. Press New questions as often as you like.

It is meant for parents doing revision at home, tuition teachers who need a quick sheet before a batch, and school teachers who want two or three different sets for a class test. It covers Maths for Classes 1 to 8 and Hindi grammar for Classes 1 to 3.

How to make a worksheet

  1. Choose the class and subject. Hindi appears for Classes 1–3.
  2. Pick a chapter or topic. The hint below the menu shows the matching NCERT chapter. Choose Mixed revision for a sheet that mixes all the topics of that class.
  3. Set the questions. Choose 10, 15, 20 or 25 questions and a level (Easy, Medium or Hard), and untick any question types you don't want.
  4. Make sets if you need them. Sets A, B and C each get different questions, which helps when children sit close together.
  5. Add your header. Type a school or tuition name if you want one. The lines for name, class, date and score are already on the sheet.
  6. Download or print. Press Download PDF for an A4 file, Print to print straight away, or save one page as a PNG to share on WhatsApp.

Matched to the current NCERT books

NCERT has replaced its Maths books in the last few years, so many older worksheets no longer match what children study. We checked the contents pages of the current books on the NCERT textbook site (Reprint 2026-27) and mapped each topic to its chapter:

ClassNCERT Maths bookExamples of topics you can pick
1–2Joyful MathematicsNumbers up to 20 and 100, addition and subtraction, groups and sharing
3Maths MelaHouse of Hundreds (place value), Give and Take, Raksha Bandhan (multiplication), Fair Share
4–5Math-MelaThousands Around Us, Equal Groups, Coconut Farm (division), Fractions, Animal Jumps (factors), Grandmother's Quilt (area)
6Ganita PrakashLines and Angles, Prime Time, Perimeter and Area, Fractions, The Other Side of Zero
7Ganita Prakash Parts 1 and 2Large Numbers Around Us, Arithmetic Expressions, A Peek Beyond the Point, Expressions using Letter-Numbers, Finding the Unknown
8Ganita Prakash Parts I and IIA Square and A Cube, Power Play, We Distribute, Yet Things Multiply, Fractions in Disguise, Area

The generator does not cover every chapter. Topics such as data handling, symmetry and constructions need drawing and discussion, so a printed quiz is not the right tool for them. For Hindi, the topics (matras, akshar words, visheshan, sangya, vilom, vachan and ling) are grammar practice to go with the Sarangi and Veena books, not chapters from them.

What goes on each sheet

  • Picture questions for younger classes: count the dots, read tens rods and ones, name the shaded fraction, find the area of a shape on squared paper, or name an angle.
  • Column sums with space to carry and borrow, for addition, subtraction and multiplication.
  • Fill in the blanks, multiple choice, true or false and match the columns.
  • Word problems set in everyday Indian situations: rupees, a mela, a school library, a farmer's rows of saplings.
  • An answer key on a separate page, laid out section by section, so checking takes a minute.

Fractions are written as proper stacked fractions, and powers and square roots look the way they do in a textbook. Hindi sheets have their instructions in Hindi (रिक्त स्थान भरिए, सही उत्तर चुनिए) and use a proper Devanagari font, so matras and joined letters print correctly in the PDF.

Are the answers right?

Every question is made by a small program that works out the answer at the same time. We also run a separate checker that solves thousands of generated sheets again, from the question text alone, and flags any key that doesn't match. Even so, read the sheet once before you hand it out. If something looks wrong, tell us.

Tips for parents and teachers

  1. Short and often beats long and rare. A 10-question sheet three times a week does more than one 25-question sheet on Sunday.
  2. Start on Easy. If your child gets everything right, move to Medium. Hard brings in bigger numbers, regrouping and two-step questions.
  3. Check the working, not just the answer. For a wrong answer, ask your child to explain the steps aloud. The mistake usually shows up in the first line.
  4. Use sets for class tests. Give Set A and Set B to alternate rows, and keep the answer key page with you.
  5. Save paper. Untick picture questions on older classes, or turn off the answer key before printing the class copies.

The tool runs in your browser and keeps working without internet once the first sheet has been made. Your settings are saved on your device for next time. There is no account and no watermark, and the questions are written for practice, not taken from any textbook or past paper.

Frequently asked questions

Are these worksheets based on the new NCERT books?

Yes. The chapter menu uses the current NCERT Maths books: Joyful Mathematics for Classes 1–2, Maths Mela for Class 3, Math-Mela for Classes 4–5 and Ganita Prakash for Classes 6–8. Each topic is shown with the chapter it matches. The questions themselves are written by the generator, not copied from the books.

Do the worksheets come with answers?

Yes. The answer key is printed on a separate last page, so you can hand out the sheet and keep the answers. Switch off 'Answer key on the last page' if you want only the questions.

Can I get a different worksheet every time?

Yes. Press New questions and the generator writes a fresh sheet with new numbers and words, along with its own answer key. You can also choose Sets A, B or C so that children sitting next to each other get different questions.

Which Hindi worksheets can I make?

For Classes 1–3 you can make sheets on do, teen and char akshar wale shabd, matras, visheshan, sangya, vilom shabd, vachan and ling. The Hindi is drawn with a proper Devanagari font, so matras and joined letters print correctly in the PDF.

Can I add my school or tuition name?

Yes. Type it in the Header box and it appears at the top of every sheet. Lines for the child's name, class, date and score are added by default, and you can pick one of six colours.

How many questions can one worksheet have?

Choose 10, 15, 20 or 25 questions per sheet. Easy, Medium and Hard change the size of the numbers or the difficulty of the words, and you can tick which question types to include.

Is this worksheet maker free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no download limit. The sheets are made in your browser, so nothing you type is sent anywhere.
