How We Check Facts
Many of our tools depend on rules made by government bodies: GST invoice fields, exam photo and signature sizes, and passport photo specifications. A wrong number can get a form rejected, so this page explains how we check what we publish.
Official sources only
- GST and invoices: the CGST Act and CGST Rules on CBIC's websites (cbic-gst.gov.in and taxinformation.cbic.gov.in), and GST Council rate notifications.
- Income tax and HRA: the Income Tax Department (incometaxindia.gov.in).
- Exam photo and signature sizes: the official notification or information bulletin of each exam, downloaded from the conducting body's own website. Each exam page links to the notice it was checked against and shows the date of the check.
- Passport and visa photos: Passport Seva and the official visa pages of each country.
- Digital signatures: the Controller of Certifying Authorities (cca.gov.in) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
We do not copy figures from coaching sites, blogs or other tool websites. When two official documents disagree, or a figure cannot be confirmed, we leave it out and say so instead of guessing. For example, our exam list does not include an exam whose own notice gives two different signature sizes.
What "official size" means on our pages
Some notices give an exact pixel size; others fix only the file size in KB. When the pixel size is our own suggestion, the page marks it with an asterisk and says that the KB range is official and the pixel size is a suggested default.
How often we re-check
- Exam pages are re-checked when a new notification for that exam is published, and at least once a year.
- GST rates and invoice rules are re-checked after GST Council meetings and at least once a year.
- Each page shows when it was last updated or checked.
What our tools do not do
Our tools help you prepare documents and files. They do not file returns, submit forms or give tax or legal advice. For decisions about tax, salary deductions or legal validity, please confirm with the official notice or a qualified professional such as a chartered accountant.
Report a mistake
If you find a figure that does not match the latest official notice, please email dvmtechno@gmail.com with the page link and the notice. We review reports and correct confirmed mistakes.
