Put the PNG on a document with our Sign PDF tool, or give the SVG or PDF to a rubber stamp shop. The PDF shows the stamp at its real size in mm.

Design a stamp for your own business, clinic, school or society. A digital stamp image is not a legal seal on its own. Never copy a government, court or notary seal, and do not use the State Emblem or any official emblem. Nothing you type or upload leaves your browser.

How a round seal is laid out

A round stamp has three zones, and getting each one right is what makes a seal look professional rather than home-made.

  • The outer ring carries the business name, reading clockwise across the top. Capitals look most even, because no letter dips below the line.
  • The bottom arc carries the city, state or a second line such as "Since 1998". It reads left to right across the bottom, with the letters standing upright, which is why it sits on the outer side of the band.
  • The centre holds a star, the logo, or a word such as PROPRIETOR, PARTNER, SECRETARY or PRINCIPAL. A date stamp puts two lines across the centre so the date can be written or set inside the band.

Between the top and bottom text, most Indian seals have a small star or dot on each side. They close the ring visually and stop the eye from reading the two texts as one sentence. You can switch them to dots or remove them.

Getting the ring text to fit

The tool sizes the text automatically: it makes the letters as tall as the band allows and then, if the words are longer than the ring, shrinks them until they fit with a gap for the separators. That is why a very long name ends up with small letters. If the hint under the preview turns red, try these in order:

  1. Use the short legal form: Pvt. Ltd., LLP, & Co.
  2. Move the city or state to the bottom arc instead of keeping it in the top text.
  3. Lower the letter spacing slider slightly.
  4. Increase the diameter from 40 to 42 or 45 mm.

Hindi seals work the same way. Each letter cluster, including conjuncts like क्ष and र्म, is kept whole as it goes around the curve, so the words stay readable.

Single, double or dotted border?

A double border (a thick ring with a thin ring just inside) is the most common choice for company seals and is the default here. A single ring suits small 30 to 35 mm seals, where space is tight. The thick-and-thin style gives a bolder, older look, and the dotted inner ring is popular for societies and trusts. Whatever you choose, the inner circle around the centre is always included, because it gives the ring text a clean edge.

From screen to rubber

When you are happy with the preview, download the SVG and the PDF. The SVG has every letter converted to outlines, so the stamp shop can open it without your font. The PDF shows the seal at its real diameter, so you and the shop agree on the size before anything is made. If you just need the seal on digital documents, the transparent PNG is enough; place it with the Sign PDF tool.

Please use this only for your own organisation's seal. Copying another firm's seal, or making anything that looks like a government, court or notary seal, is not allowed.

Frequently asked questions

What is written on a round company stamp?

Usually the full business name around the top, the city or state around the bottom, and a star, the logo or a word such as PROPRIETOR or PARTNER in the middle. Some firms add a short tagline or a registration line inside.

What diameter should a round stamp be?

38, 40 and 42 mm are the most common sizes for business seals. A long name fits better on 42 or 45 mm; a short one looks good at 38 mm. Ask your stamp maker which sizes they make.

My company name is too long for the circle. What can I do?

Shorten the legal words (Pvt. Ltd., & Co.), move the city to the bottom ring, reduce letter spacing a little, or choose a larger diameter. The tool warns you when the letters become too small to print clearly.

Can I put my logo in the middle of the round seal?

Yes. Choose Logo under 'In the middle' and pick an image. It is turned into the ink colour, so a simple dark logo on a white background gives the best result.
