Sign a PDF in under a minute, on any device
An offer letter, a hostel undertaking, a society NOC, a vendor agreement or a school consent form: more and more of these arrive as a PDF with a line that says "Signature". Printing, signing and scanning takes a printer, a scanner and ten minutes. On this page you open the PDF, put your signature on it and download the signed copy, all inside your browser. The file is not uploaded, there is no account to create, and nothing is stamped on your document.
Three ways to make your signature
- Draw: sign on the pad with your finger, a stylus or a mouse. The line gets slightly thinner when you move quickly, like ink from a real pen. On a phone, turn it sideways for a wider pad.
- Type: type your name and pick one of six handwriting styles. This suits informal documents, not forms where your own handwriting is expected.
- Upload: sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, take a clear photo and choose it. The white paper is removed so only the ink is placed on the page.
Choose black or blue ink. If you sign documents often, tick Remember this signature on this device; it is kept in your browser, never on our server, and you can delete it any time.
Placing it neatly
- Scroll to the page with the signature line and zoom in with the + button.
- Tap Add to page. The signature appears in the middle of the page you are viewing.
- Drag it onto the line and pull the yellow corner until it is about as wide as the space for it.
- Tap Date to add today's date, or Text to add your name and place.
- For initials on every page, keep the signature selected and tap Copy to every page.
- Download the signed PDF. The original file on your device is not changed.
When an image signature is enough, and when it is not
A signature placed with this tool is a picture of your handwritten signature. It is commonly accepted where a scanned signature would be, such as letters, declarations, internal approvals and many forms that you print or email.
It is not the same as a digital signature under Indian law. The Information Technology Act, 2000 recognises signatures made with a Digital Signature Certificate, issued by a Certifying Authority licensed by the Controller of Certifying Authorities, and electronic signatures such as eSign, where the signer is verified through e-KYC. An online filing that asks for a DSC or eSign will not accept an image. If the other party or the portal names a specific signing method, use that one. We do not claim that an image signature makes any document legally binding.
Keep your signature safe
A signature image can be copied by anyone who receives the file. Sign only documents you have read, share the signed PDF only with the people who need it, and avoid leaving your signature on shared or public computers. Because this tool never uploads your PDF or signature, they stay only where you save them.
Need just the signature as a PNG for letterheads or exam forms? Use the signature maker. To add text, fill fields or merge files as well, use the full PDF editor.

Frequently asked questions
How do I sign a PDF on my mobile without an app?
Open this page in Chrome or Safari, choose the PDF from your phone, and the signature pad opens. Sign with your finger, tap Add to page, drag the signature onto the line and pull the yellow corner to resize it. Then tap Download signed PDF.
Is an image signature the same as a digital signature?
No. An image signature is a picture of your handwritten signature on the page. A digital signature in the legal sense is a Digital Signature Certificate issued by a licensed Certifying Authority, or an Aadhaar-based eSign, as described by the Controller of Certifying Authorities (cca.gov.in). Use those when a portal or contract asks for a digital signature.
Can I sign every page or add my initials on each page?
Yes. Place your signature or initials once, keep it selected and tap Copy to every page. It is copied to the same spot on all pages, and you can still move any copy on its own.
Will my signature be saved anywhere?
Only if you tick Remember this signature on this device. It is then kept in your browser's local storage on that phone or computer, not on a server, and you can remove it with the × on the saved signature.
Can I add the date next to my signature?
Yes. Tap Date to drop today's date in DD/MM/YYYY format, then drag it next to the signature. You can change the text, size and colour in the bar above the page.
