"Bonafide" means genuine. A bonafide certificate is the school's written confirmation that a student is genuinely enrolled and studying there right now. It is one of the most requested documents in any school office, especially when scholarship forms open. This page opens the school certificate maker with the bonafide format ready.
A typical bonafide certificate from a school has these parts:
- Letterhead: school name, address, affiliation or UDISE number and logo.
- Reference number and date of issue, so the certificate can be traced in the school's issue register.
- Title: Bonafide Certificate.
- The statement: "This is to certify that [name], son/daughter of [parent], is a bonafide student of this school, studying in Class [class], Section [section], in the academic session [session]."
- Optional details: admission number and date of birth as per the school records, if the receiving office needs them.
- Purpose: "This certificate is issued on his/her request for [purpose]."
- Signature of the principal or headmaster, with the school seal.
Filling it in correctly
Copy the student's and parent's names from the admission register rather than from the application, so they match the school's records. Choose Boy or Girl to set son/daughter and his/her. If a date of birth is needed, enter it from the register; the certificate says "as per the school records", which is what the school can vouch for.
The purpose line is optional but useful. Scholarship portals, banks and passport offices often want to see that the certificate was issued for their purpose. Keep it short: "a scholarship application", "opening a savings bank account", "a concession bus pass".

Hindi format
Choose हिन्दी under Language and the certificate becomes "बोनाफ़ाइड (अध्ययनरत) प्रमाण-पत्र", with the wording "प्रमाणित किया जाता है कि … इस विद्यालय की कक्षा … की नियमित छात्रा है …". Names can be typed in Hindi or English.
