A Hindi wedding e-invite that reads the traditional way
Printed wedding cards still matter, but the first invitation most guests see today is a single image on WhatsApp. That image should carry the same respectful wording as the printed card, in Hindi that reads correctly. चि. (चिरंजीव) is the customary prefix for the groom and सौ.कां. (सौभाग्यकांक्षिणी) for the bride. Families differ, so follow what your elders use; every word on the card can be edited.
Dates and times in Hindi
Pick the wedding date from the calendar and the card writes it as "रविवार, 22 नवंबर 2026", with the correct weekday. The time is written the way it is said: "शाम 7 बजे", "रात 8:30 बजे". If there are several functions on different days, write each in the programme box with its own date, for example "हल्दी: 21 नवंबर, सुबह 10 बजे".
Designs for a wedding
The Royal arch (jharokha) frame suits a formal invite. The Mandala design looks rich on a deep background, Florals suit a softer palette for an engagement or reception, and Paisley gives a festive band at the top and bottom. Choose Traditional lettering for a classic Hindi look or Festive for something bolder. All art is vector drawing, with no deity images, so the card can be forwarded and printed at any size.
Venue, map and contacts
Write the venue name and address with the city, and paste the Google Maps link so the card shows a location QR. Add one phone number for guests who need directions, and say whose it is. If the wedding and reception are at different places, make a second card for the reception with its own venue and QR.

How do I write the bride and groom's names on a Hindi wedding card?
The usual style is 'चि. (groom's name) संग सौ.कां. (bride's name)'. चि. stands for चिरंजीव, used for the groom, and सौ.कां. for सौभाग्यकांक्षिणी, used for the bride. Type the names in the highlight line; you can add the parents' names in the message.
What does दर्शनाभिलाषी mean on a wedding card?
It means 'those who wish to see you', and is the traditional line before the names of the family members who are inviting. You can change it to निवेदक or any other word you prefer.
Can I add several functions like mehendi and reception?
Yes. Put one function per line in the programme box, for example 'मेहंदी: 20 नवंबर, शाम 5 बजे' and 'प्रीतिभोज: रात 8 बजे से'. Keep it to three or four lines so the text stays readable.
Is this a full wedding card with many pages?
No. It makes a single-page e-invite for WhatsApp and a printable A5 or A6 card. Many families send it alongside, or instead of, the printed card from the press.
