Student ID cards, class by class
At the start of every session, the school office has the same job: an identity card for every student, often within the first few weeks. This page opens the ID card maker with the school fields ready: admission number, class, section, father's name, date of birth, blood group, phone, address and session. You can make one card for a new admission or the whole school from your class lists.
A simple routine for the school office
- Set up the design once. Add the school name, address or affiliation line and logo, choose a template and colours that match your uniform or letterhead, and type the principal's title for the back. Add a scanned signature if you have one. The design is saved on the computer you use.
- Collect photos with clear names. Ask class teachers to save each photo as the admission number, such as
2026-0871.jpg. Phone photos are fine if the child stands against a plain wall in daylight. - Paste the class list. From your school software or Excel, copy the columns Name, Adm. No., Class, Section, Father's Name, D.O.B., Blood Group, Phone, Address, Session and Photo, with the header row, into the "Many cards" box.
- Add the photos by selecting all of them together. Turn on "Make photo backgrounds white" if the photos were taken in a classroom; it takes a little longer but runs on your computer.
- Check, then print. Step through the cards with the arrows, fix any spelling in the list, and download the A4 sheet. Each sheet has 10 cards with crop marks, followed by the backs.
Good practice for student cards
- Blood group is printed in red so it is easy to find in an emergency. Leave it blank where the school does not have a verified value.
- Parent's phone is better as the emergency contact on the back than on the front, which is visible to everyone while the child wears the card.
- Home address is optional. Many schools print only the area or leave it out for younger children.
- QR code: by default it holds the name, admission number, school and phone as plain text. If your school has an online verification page, type its link instead.
Printing and finishing
Print the sheet at actual size on 200–300 gsm card or photo paper. For double-sided cards, choose "flip on long edge" for portrait sheets (landscape cards) or "flip on short edge" for landscape sheets (portrait cards). After cutting, laminate the cards or slide them into standard CR80 holders with a lanyard.
Making the school's other documents too? The school certificate maker prints bonafide, character and participation certificates, and the stamp maker designs the principal's round seal.

Frequently asked questions
What details go on a student ID card?
The school name and logo, student photo, name, admission number, class and section, father's name, date of birth, blood group, a contact number, address and the session. The back usually has rules for the card, an emergency number, the school address and the principal's signature.
How do I make ID cards for all the students in a class?
Export the class list from your school software or Excel with a header row, paste it into 'Many cards (CSV)', and select all the student photos at once. Name each photo after the admission number and add a Photo column to match them.
Which session format should I use?
Most schools print the academic year, such as 2026-27, in the Session field. You can type 'Valid till March 2027' instead if you prefer.
Can parents' phone numbers go on the back instead of the front?
Yes. Use the Emergency contact field for the parent's number; it is printed on the back, so it is not visible when the card is worn.
