1What should the QR open?
Type it exactly as your phone shows it, including capitals and spaces.
Mobile or landline. For a landline, type the STD code without the 0, for example 22 2345 6789.
Paste a map link (a share link from the map app works too), or type latitude, longitude.
2Poster text
3Design
Real sizes on A4 with cut lines. Print at Actual size (100%).
Scan the code with two different phones before you print copies. The SVG has the bare QR code, which stays sharp at any size.
A QR code that shows the way
Directions written on an invitation, such as "near the old water tank, second left after the petrol pump", rarely help a guest coming from another city. A location QR code does. The guest scans it with the phone camera, the map opens on the exact gate, and navigation takes over. This page opens the QR code generator on the Location type, with a "Scan for directions" poster ready.
Three ways to add the place
- Paste a map link. Copy it from your browser's address bar or from the map app's Share button. If the link contains coordinates, the tool uses them; a short share link is used as it is.
- Type coordinates as latitude, longitude, for example
26.9124, 75.7873. In most map apps you get these by pressing and holding on the exact spot. - Use my current location while you stand at the venue gate or shop entrance. Your browser asks permission first, and the position stays on your device.
Then add the place name, such as "Shubh Vivah Lawn, Gate 2", so it prints under the code.
Where location QR codes help
- Wedding cards and invitations: one code for the venue, and a second one if the mehendi or reception is somewhere else. Print each with a clear caption.
- Shops and clinics: a poster or sticker on delivery bags and bills, so new customers can find you next time.
- Visiting cards: on the back of a card for an office that is hard to find.
- Events: society functions, exam centres, camps and sports days, on the notice board and in the WhatsApp group.
- Rentals and PGs: share the exact building with new tenants and delivery riders.
Printing tips for cards
For an invitation card, switch to QR only and download the SVG or a large PNG for your card printer, so the code stays sharp. Keep it at least 2 to 3 cm wide, dark on a light background, with a blank margin around it. Matching the code to the card colours is fine as long as the dots stay clearly darker than the background. For a gate or counter, use Download PDF for an A4 poster, A5 sheet or stickers in real sizes.
Ask the card printer for a proof and scan the printed code with two different phones before the full run. A code that looks fine on screen can fail if the printer shrinks it or prints it in gold foil, which reflects light and is hard for cameras to read.
Check the pin before you print
Large venues often have several gates, and map pins can sit in the middle of a building or on the wrong road. Open the link on your phone, check that navigation leads to the entrance guests should use, and move the pin if needed. It takes a minute and saves many phone calls on the day.
The tool works in your browser and is not affiliated with Google, Apple or any map app.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get the coordinates of a venue?
In most map apps, press and hold on the exact spot to drop a pin; the coordinates appear at the top or in the place details. Copy them and paste them here. If you are at the venue, tap Use my current location instead.
Can I use the Share link from my map app?
Yes. Paste it as it is. If the link has coordinates in it, the tool builds a standard map link from them. A short share link has no coordinates inside, so the QR holds the link itself, which still opens the place on any phone with internet.
How big should the QR be on a wedding card?
About 2 to 3 cm wide is usually enough for a card held in the hand. Keep a clear white margin around it, print it in a dark colour, and add a short line such as Scan for the venue location. Scan a printed proof with two phones before printing all the cards.
Will the location QR stop working after the event?
No. It holds the map link or coordinates directly, with no service in between, so it keeps working. If you used a short share link, it works as long as that link does.
Map link or geo: link, which should I choose?
Choose Map link for printed cards and posters, because it opens on any phone, in a browser or a maps app. The geo: option sends the coordinates straight to the phone's default map app, but a few camera apps show it as plain text.
