Why online forms ask for small PDFs

Most recruitment, admission and scholarship portals in India ask you to upload certificates, caste or income certificates, ID proof and similar documents as a PDF, and each upload box has a size limit printed in the notice or next to the button. That limit is often far below the size of a photo straight from a phone camera, which can easily be several MB. The upload fails, and the deadline gets closer.

This page opens our JPG to PDF converter with the size set to under 100 KB. Add the photo or scan of your document and the tool searches for the highest quality that keeps the whole PDF within the limit. If your form asks for a different limit, type it in the Max size box.

Step by step

  1. Take a clear photo. Lay the document flat in daylight, hold the phone straight above it and fill the frame with the page.
  2. Add it here. Tap the box and choose the photo. For a two-sided card or a multi-page certificate, add every photo and put them in order.
  3. Check the limit. It is already 100 KB. Change it if your notice says otherwise.
  4. Turn on Black and white for printed text documents. It often makes the biggest difference to readability at small sizes.
  5. Download the PDF and look at the size shown under the button. Open the file once to make sure every word is readable before you upload it.

How the size search works

A PDF made from photos is almost entirely the photos inside it. To reach a target, the tool re-saves every image as a JPG at a matching resolution and quality, builds the PDF, measures it, and repeats, homing in on the right setting in a few steps. All pages use the same setting, so one page is not left much sharper than another. If even the lowest setting is above your limit, usually because there are many pages, you still get the smallest version along with its size, so you can remove a page or raise the limit.

Getting the most out of 100 KB

Do thisWhy it helps
Crop to the paper's edgesTable tops, fingers and shadows use space without adding anything useful
Use Black and white for textColour information is dropped, leaving more room for sharp letters
Fit whole image, no marginThe document fills the page, so text is as large as possible
One document per PDFA single page keeps the whole 100 KB for itself
Shoot in good lightGrain from dim photos costs space and hides detail

Safe for your documents

Certificates and ID proofs carry personal details, so it matters where you convert them. This converter runs inside your browser: the photos are read from your phone or computer and the PDF is written back to it, with no upload and no copy kept anywhere. There is no sign-up, no daily limit and no watermark.

For the photograph and signature in the same application, which usually need exact pixel sizes in JPG, use the exam photo and signature resizer. To join this PDF with another one, use merge PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a JPG to a PDF under 100 KB?

Add the photo, keep the size set to Under a size with 100 KB, and tap Download PDF. The tool tries quality levels and keeps the sharpest result that stays at or below 100 KB. The final size is shown under the button.

My certificate looks blurry at 100 KB. What can I do?

Turn on Black and white, which saves a lot of space on text documents, crop the photo tightly to the paper before adding it, and use a photo taken in good daylight. Each of these lets the tool keep more detail within the same limit.

Can I put two or three pages in one PDF under 100 KB?

Yes. Add all the photos; the limit applies to the whole PDF, so each page gets a share of the 100 KB. Several pages under a tight limit will look softer, so check the preview and use Black and white for text pages.

What if the portal's limit is 200 KB or 50 KB?

Type your own limit in the Max size box or tap one of the presets. Always use the exact limit printed in your notice, because every portal sets its own.

Is it safe to convert my ID proof here?

Yes. The photo is read and the PDF is made inside your browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and there is no sign-up or watermark.
