Class 3 maths in one revision sheet

Class 3 is a big step up. Numbers grow to three digits, multiplication becomes a regular part of the week, and fractions appear for the first time. The NCERT book for this class is Maths Mela, and the mixed revision sheet here draws from four of its main threads:

Topic on the sheetMaths Mela chapters
Place value and number namesCh 3 Double Century, Ch 6 House of Hundreds-I, Ch 9 House of Hundreds-II
Adding and subtracting bigger numbersCh 12 Give and Take
Multiplication as equal groupsCh 7 Raksha Bandhan
Halves, quarters and thirdsCh 8 Fair Share

Shapes, time, measuring, the class party and the fair chapters are not covered. The mix shuffles the four topics above, so one sheet might have a fraction bar, a 3-digit column sum, a group picture and a "write in words" blank. If you want a whole sheet on one topic, use the Chapter or topic menu; for times tables there is also a ready Class 3 multiplication worksheet.

How to set it up

  1. Class 3, Maths and Mixed revision are already selected.
  2. 15 questions is a comfortable length for this age. Pick 20 for a weekend test.
  3. Choose the level. On Easy, the 3-digit sums need no carrying or borrowing. Medium makes every one of them regroup and adds blanks such as writing a number in words. Hard mixes both kinds of sums.
  4. Leave the answer key on, then download the PDF or print straight away.

Common Class 3 mistakes, and what to do

  • Zeros in the answer. Sums like 546 – 446 give 100, and children often write just "1" or "10". Ask them to fill every column, even with a zero.
  • "Bigger number, bigger fraction". Many children think one-eighth is bigger than one-fourth because 8 is bigger than 4. Fold a roti or a sheet of paper into 4 and into 8 and compare one piece of each.
  • Number names with "hundred". Writing 943 in words trips up children who skip the tens. Say it slowly: nine hundred, forty, three.
  • Borrowing across a zero. In a sum like 703 – 248, the middle zero has nothing to lend. Practise a few of these with bundles of sticks before moving on.

Once a sheet is done, mark it with the answer key and circle the question type where most mistakes happened. Then make the next sheet on that chapter alone. Two or three short sheets a week are usually enough to keep these skills fresh between school tests.

Frequently asked questions

Which NCERT book does this Class 3 worksheet follow?

It matches topics in Maths Mela, the NCERT Class 3 maths book. The mixed sheet draws from Ch 3 Double Century, Ch 6 and Ch 9 House of Hundreds, Ch 7 Raksha Bandhan, Ch 8 Fair Share and Ch 12 Give and Take. The questions are written by the generator, not copied from the book.

Are fractions taught in Class 3?

Yes, in a simple way. Ch 8 Fair Share introduces halves, thirds and quarters through equal sharing. On this sheet they appear as shaded bars to name, 'one-fourth of 16' style blanks and questions that ask which of two unit fractions is bigger.

Can I use these sheets as summer vacation homework?

Yes. Make one sheet, tap New questions for the next, and download each as a PDF to print in one go. Turn the answer key off before printing the copies that go home, and keep a version with the key for yourself.

How big are the numbers in the Class 3 sheet?

Up to 999. Children add and subtract 3-digit numbers, read and write number names such as nine hundred forty-three, and solve story sums about the people in two villages. Multiplication stays within the tables of 2 to 10.
