What a Class 2 mixed revision sheet includes

Class 2 is the year children start working with full two-digit numbers and meet multiplication for the first time. The mixed sheet here draws from these chapters of the NCERT book Joyful Mathematics:

  • Numbers up to 100 (Ch 1 A Day at the Beach, Ch 3 Fun with Numbers): reading tens rods, the number between two numbers, the biggest number in a set, and number names such as seventy-nine.
  • Two-digit addition and subtraction (Ch 6 Decoration for Festival): column sums, some with carrying and some with borrowing, plus story sums about sharing kites or sweets.
  • Multiplication as equal groups (Ch 8 Grouping and Sharing): pictures where your child writes "____ groups of ____ = ____", repeated addition, and small facts from the tables of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10.

Chapters on shapes, lines, measurement, seasons and time, the fair (money) and data are not part of this generator. To practise just one of the three areas above, choose it from the Chapter or topic menu instead of Mixed revision.

Steps to make the sheet

  1. This page opens with Class 2, Maths and Mixed revision already chosen.
  2. Keep 10 questions for home practice. A teacher planning a class test can go up to 15 or 20.
  3. Pick a level. On Easy, two-digit sums need no carrying or borrowing. On Medium, every two-digit sum carries or borrows, like 61 – 36. Hard mixes both kinds, so your child has to spot which one needs it.
  4. For a class, choose Sets A and B, or A, B and C, so neighbours get different questions.
  5. Download the PDF or print. The answer key prints on the last page and can be turned off if the sheet is going home.

Where Class 2 children usually slip

  • Taking the smaller digit from the bigger one. In 61 – 36, a child may do 6 – 1 = 5 in the ones place and write 35. Ask "Can we take 6 from 1?" before they write anything.
  • Forgetting the carried ten. In 56 + 28, the ones make 14. Encourage your child to write the small 1 above the tens column every time, even when they think they will remember it.
  • Mixing up number names. Seventy-nine and ninety-seven sound similar. Ask your child to say the tens first, then the ones, and point to each digit as they say it.
  • Counting every object in a group picture. That gives the right total but misses the point. Ask how many groups there are and how many are in one group, then let them check by counting.

When you mark the sheet, look at how an answer went wrong, not just whether it did. Two wrong borrowing sums tell you more than one careless slip. A short sheet every other day, made fresh with New questions, works well through the year and in the holidays.

Frequently asked questions

Is multiplication taught in Class 2?

Yes, as equal groups. It comes in Ch 8 Grouping and Sharing in Joyful Mathematics. This sheet follows that idea with group pictures, repeated addition such as 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 4 × ____ and small facts like 4 × 10.

How can I help my Class 2 child with borrowing in subtraction?

Use a sum like 61 – 36 from the sheet and show 61 as 6 bundles of ten and 1 loose stick. There are not enough loose sticks to take away 6, so open one bundle. Once the idea is clear with sticks, the written method makes sense.

Can I give two children in the same class different sheets?

Yes. Set Sets to A and B and the tool prints two versions with different questions, each with its own answer key. This works well for siblings, tuition batches or children sitting next to each other.

Does the Class 2 worksheet include money and time?

Rupees appear in some story sums, such as the cost of a few pens. There are no clock, calendar or measurement questions, because the mix only covers numbers, two-digit addition and subtraction, and equal groups.
