What the Class 4 mix covers
In Class 4 the numbers reach the thousands and the four operations start to work together in one problem. The NCERT book is Math-Mela, and the mixed revision sheet on this page draws from these chapters:
- Place value and number names, from Ch 4 Thousands Around Us: matching a 4-digit number with its expanded form, like 2,000 + 900 + 1.
- Adding and subtracting with regrouping, from Ch 7 The Cleanest Village: 4-digit column sums and story sums such as the empty seats in a stadium.
- Multiplication, from Ch 9 Equal Groups and Ch 13 The Transport Museum: multiplying by a single digit, by 10 and 100, and on Hard, two 2-digit numbers.
- Division, from Ch 9 Equal Groups: tables-based division, quotient and remainder, and fair-sharing word problems.
- Halves, quarters and thirds, from Ch 5 Sharing and Measuring: shaded fraction bars, "one-third of 30" blanks and comparing two fractions.
Chapters on shapes, patterns, length, weight, symmetry, clocks and calendars, and data are not part of the generator. For a sheet on just one topic, pick it from the Chapter or topic menu. There is also a ready Class 4 place value worksheet.
Using it before a unit test
- Class 4, Maths and Mixed revision are set already.
- Start with 15 questions on Medium. This brings in division with remainders and 3-digit numbers times a single digit.
- Two weeks before the test, switch to Hard and 20 questions to stretch the faster workers.
- For a classroom, choose Sets A, B and C. Each set has different numbers and its own answer key, which helps when children sit close together.
- Print, or download the PDF and send it to the class WhatsApp group with the answer key turned off.
What to look for when you check
- Remainders bigger than the divisor. If a child writes a remainder of 11 when dividing by 9, the quotient is too small. Ask them to try one more group.
- Place shifting in long multiplication. In 33 × 23, the second row must move one place to the left, or start with a zero. This is the most common reason a Hard answer is far off.
- Borrowing across the thousands. In a sum like 7,003 – 2,468 there is nothing to borrow from the tens or hundreds, so the borrow has to come from the thousands. Have your child say each step out loud as they cross out and rewrite the digits.
- Comparing fractions the wrong way round. Some children still think a third is bigger than a half. A quick paper strip folded in two and in three settles it.
Look at the answer key with your child and sort mistakes into "careless" and "didn't know how". The second kind is where the next sheet should focus. See also the Class 3 and Class 5 maths worksheets.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Easy and Hard on the Class 4 sheet?
Easy keeps multiplication to a 2-digit number times a single digit and division to tables facts, and the 4-digit sums need no regrouping. Hard brings in 2-digit by 2-digit multiplication such as 28 × 17, bigger quotients and more carrying and borrowing.
Does the Class 4 worksheet have division with remainder?
Yes. From Medium up, some questions ask for both the quotient and the remainder, for example a number just over 100 shared by 9. Story sums about sharing sweets among children are also included.
Why are the answers written with commas, like 4,705?
Four-digit answers use the comma after the thousands place, the way the Indian system groups numbers. Children who leave the comma out are not wrong, but writing it helps them read the number aloud correctly.
How do I mark a Class 4 sheet quickly?
Keep the answer key on. It prints on separate page(s) at the end, numbered the same as the questions, so you can tick a whole sheet in a minute and write the total on the score line at the top.
