Timed practice
Why practise on an OMR sheet at all?
For many children, a school olympiad is the first time they answer on an OMR sheet. The questions may be fine, but marking is new: finding the right row, darkening the whole bubble, not ticking or crossing, and moving on without losing their place. A Class 1 or Class 2 child who has never done this can lose more marks to marking than to maths. A blank OMR sheet on its own helps a little; an OMR sheet that goes with a real practice paper helps much more, because the child does the full routine: read, solve, find the row, mark.
This page makes both. It opens on the OMR page of a 35-question Class 3 paper, but you can change the class, the number of questions and the sections, and the sheet follows.
What is on the OMR page
- Header with your school or coaching name (if you add one), the test name, class, number of questions and time.
- Student details: lines for name, class and section, school, date and signature.
- Roll number: five boxes to write the digits, each with a column of 0–9 bubbles below it.
- Instructions and a "how to mark" box showing one right way and four wrong ways (tick, cross, half-filled, dot). On a two-section paper, a line says which question numbers belong to which section.
- Answer grid: one row of A, B, C and D bubbles for each question, in two to five columns, with every second block of five rows shaded so the eye doesn't slip.
- Checker's box at the bottom for right, wrong, not attempted and the score.
Black squares in the corners make it look and feel like a machine-read sheet. They are only for practice; nothing here is read by a machine.
Teaching young children to mark
- Show the "how to mark" box and let the child fill three bubbles slowly, from the edge inwards.
- Do the first five questions together: solve on the question paper, then find the row and mark.
- Teach the habit of checking the question number before marking, especially after skipping a question.
- Leave the last five minutes to go over the sheet for half-filled or missing bubbles.
Checking a class set
The answer key starts with a compact grid of question numbers and answer letters, the quickest way to mark a pile of OMR sheets by hand. Below it, each question has a line of working for going over the paper later. Because the generator can make a new paper with a new key in one tap, you can give a fresh paper each week and still mark in minutes.
If you only need blank sheets in other sizes, such as 100 or 200 questions or with five options, use the OMR sheet generator. To let children answer on a phone with a timer instead, see the free olympiad mock test.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the official OMR sheet of an olympiad?
No. It is a practice sheet in a familiar layout: name and class lines, roll-number bubbles, instructions and one row of A to D bubbles per question. Real olympiads use their own sheets with their own instructions, so always read the sheet you are given on the day.
Can I print only the OMR sheet?
Yes. Move to the OMR page with the OMR sheet button under the preview and press 'PNG of this page', or print the PDF and choose only that page in the print dialog. For blank OMR sheets with 25 to 200 questions, use our OMR sheet generator.
How many questions does the OMR sheet have?
It has exactly as many rows as the paper, from 10 to 50. Change Number of questions and the sheet changes with it, spreading the rows over two to five columns.
How do I check a child's OMR sheet quickly?
The answer key page starts with a grid of question numbers and answer letters. Lay it next to the OMR sheet and tick row by row; there is a box at the bottom of the sheet to write the number right, wrong and not attempted.
Which pen should children use?
For practice, use what the real exam asks for. Many OMR sheets ask for a blue or black ballpoint pen and say that marks cannot be changed, so practising with a pen builds the habit of thinking before marking.
