Sample olympiad-style question paper with reasoning and maths questions

Class 4 · 20 questions · Maths + Reasoning

Practise on screen. Answer this paper on your phone or computer with a countdown, then see the score and the working for each question.

A4 size; print at 100%. The questions are written by this generator in an olympiad style. They are not taken from any past paper, and MuftTools is not connected with any olympiad organiser.

A real-feeling mock test, without the sign-up

Many olympiad mock tests online ask for an account, a phone number or a fee before the first question. This page skips all that. The generator writes a fresh olympiad-style paper for the class you choose and opens it on screen with a countdown. Your child answers by tapping one of four options; when they submit, or when the time ends, the page marks every question and shows the working for each one. The page opens at Class 4, Maths + Reasoning, 20 questions, but you can change any setting before you start.

How to take the mock test

  1. Pick the class, sections, number of questions and difficulty in the form. Leave Time allowed on Auto to get a fair time limit for the class, or set your own.
  2. Press Start timed practice. The paper opens below, with the timer and a count of answered questions in a bar that stays at the top while you scroll.
  3. Answer in any order. Figure questions, such as mirror images, counting triangles and clocks, are drawn as pictures, and the four options for a mirror-image question are pictures too.
  4. Press Submit. You see the score, the percentage and the time used, then each question marked right or wrong with the correct answer highlighted and a line of working.

Making a mock test count

  • Exam conditions. One sitting, no breaks, no calculator, rough paper allowed. Phones on silent, unless the test is on the phone.
  • Same length as the real thing. If the real paper has 35 or 50 questions, practise at that length at least once, so stamina is not a surprise.
  • Leave and return. If a question takes more than two minutes, leave it and come back. The answered count in the top bar shows how many are left.
  • Review the same day. Read the working for every wrong answer while the questions are fresh, and note the question types that went wrong.
  • Track progress. Write down the score and time after each mock test. A steady rise over a few weeks matters more than any single score.

Prefer paper?

The same paper is shown in the preview and can be downloaded as a PDF with an OMR answer sheet and an answer key. Some families do both: the printed paper on Saturday, then a fresh on-screen test on Sunday. Note that the on-screen test always uses the paper currently in the preview, so pressing New questions changes both.

Nothing from the test is stored or sent; the score disappears when you close the page, so note it down if you want to keep track. For class-specific practice, try the Class 5 maths questions or the Class 4 reasoning questions.

Frequently asked questions

Is this mock test really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no payment and no limit on the number of tests. The test runs in your browser and nothing is saved on a server, so close the tab and it is gone.

Do I need to start again if I change the class?

Change the class, sections, number of questions or difficulty in the form first, then press Start timed practice. The mock test always uses the paper shown in the preview, so you can print the same paper afterwards if you want a written copy.

What happens when the time runs out?

The test is submitted automatically. Questions you did not answer are shown as not answered, with the right answer and the working.

Is the score the same as in a real olympiad?

No. This practice test gives 1 mark per right answer with no negative marking. Real olympiads set their own marks per question and sections, so use this score to track progress from one practice test to the next.

Can I take the test again with new questions?

Yes. Press New questions in the form, then Start timed practice again. Every paper is new, so you can take a mock test every day.
