Diwali wishes that look like they came from you

On Diwali morning a family WhatsApp group can receive the same forwarded diya picture twenty times. A poster with your own photo and name stands apart, because people recognise the face before they read the words. This page opens the festival poster maker straight on Diwali, with the rangoli design and an arch-shaped photo frame, so you only need to add yourself.

What goes on a good Diwali poster

  • A short greeting at the top. शुभ दीपावली, दीपावली की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ or Happy Diwali, in festive lettering.
  • One or two lines of wishes. Something like "दीपों का यह पावन पर्व आपके जीवन में सुख, समृद्धि और खुशियों का उजाला लेकर आए।" Four Hindi and four English messages are ready to tap, and you can write your own.
  • Your photo and name. Add "एवं परिवार" or "& family" under the name if the wishes are from the whole household.
  • Shop details, if it is a business greeting. Name, phone and logo in a strip at the bottom, plus an optional offer badge.

Four Diwali designs

Night lights has a purple night sky, a string of coloured bulbs, small fireworks and a row of five clay diyas. Rangoli sits on deep maroon with rangoli flowers in the corners and a gold double border. Toran is light and traditional, with a marigold and mango-leaf toran across the top and a half rangoli at the bottom. Lanterns uses glowing akash kandil lanterns on a warm orange-red background. Every design is drawn by the tool, without photos of deities or copied clip art, so it prints cleanly at A3 too.

Photo tips for Diwali

A photo in traditional clothes, taken in daylight or near a well-lit window, works best. If the background is a messy room, turn on Remove photo background; the person-detection model runs on your phone and nothing is uploaded. The Cut-out frame drops the box altogether and places you directly on the design with a soft glow behind. For a couple or a family photo, the arch frame gives a little more height than the round one.

Sending and printing

For WhatsApp chats and groups, keep the square size and tap Image for WhatsApp. For your status, switch the size to 1080 × 1920 and the layout stretches to fill the screen. Tap Animated GIF for a version with flickering diya flames and twinkling lights. Shops that want a poster for the counter can download the A4 or A3 PDF and print it at actual size.

About the date

The poster has no date unless you add one. If you tap the date chip, it uses Sunday, 8 November 2026, the date in the Department of Personnel and Training's 2026 holiday list for central government offices. The same list notes that in some states Diwali is marked a day earlier, on Naraka Chaturdashi, so if your area celebrates on a different day, type your own date or leave it off.

After Diwali

Your name, shop details and logo stay saved in this browser. For Bhai Dooj, Chhath, Guru Nanak Jayanti or the New Year, open the page, tap the next festival and the wishes change while your details stay in place.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put my photo on a Diwali poster?

Tap Add your photo, choose a picture from your phone and drag it in the small frame to centre your face. Pick the round, arch or cut-out frame, type your name and download the JPG.

Can I write the Diwali wishes in Hindi?

Yes. Hindi is selected by default, with greetings like शुभ दीपावली and दीपावली की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ and ready messages you can tap. The Hindi lettering is built into the tool, so it looks right on every phone.

What date is Diwali in 2026?

The central government holiday list for 2026 gives Diwali (Deepavali) as Sunday, 8 November 2026, and notes that some states observe it a day earlier on Naraka Chaturdashi. The date line on the poster is optional.

Can a shop add its logo and phone number?

Yes. Fill in the shop name, phone, a short address and upload your logo. They appear in a strip at the bottom, and the logo is remembered in your browser for the next poster.

Is the poster free, without a watermark?

Yes. JPG, PNG, animated GIF and the A4 or A3 print PDF are all free, with no watermark or sign-up.
