1Pick a test

Each test opens full screen. Scrolling is paused until you tap Done or press your phone's Back button.

Draw test and dead zones

Swipe your finger over every square. Squares that stay white even after you swipe over them are dead zones.

Multi-touch test

Put several fingers down at once. Each finger gets a numbered circle, and we count how many your screen can track together.

Ghost touch test

After a 5-second countdown, put the phone down and don't touch it. Any touch the screen reports by itself is logged with its time and place.

Edge test

Run your finger along all four edges and into the corners, where cracks and curved glass often stop touches.

Remove a thick case or loose screen protector and dry your hands first. Touches are read by your browser on this phone and are never sent anywhere.

What ghost touch looks like

Ghost touch, also called phantom touch, is when your phone behaves as if a finger is on the screen when none is. Apps open on their own, the keyboard types random letters, the screen scrolls or calls get dialled from your pocket. It can come and go, which makes it hard to prove at a service centre. This test turns it into something you can see and note down.

How the ghost touch test works

  1. Choose how long to watch: 30 seconds, 1, 2 or 5 minutes. Keep "Keep the screen on" ticked so the display doesn't sleep midway, where your browser allows it.
  2. Tap Start ghost touch test. A 5-second countdown begins.
  3. During the countdown, put the phone flat on a table and move your hands away. Don't hold it: your palm on the edge counts as a touch.
  4. The page watches the whole screen. Each touch it receives is drawn as a red dot and logged with the second it happened.
  5. When time is up the phone buzzes, where vibration is supported, and the result appears with a map of where the touches landed.

Making the result reliable

Ghost touch often depends on conditions, so one clean run doesn't always clear the phone. Run it in the situations where you notice the problem:

Run the testWhy
On batteryYour baseline
While charging with your usual chargerFaulty or poor-quality chargers can add electrical noise
With the original or another good chargerShows whether the charger is to blame
Without the screen protectorA lifted or cracked protector can cause false touches
After the phone has been warm for a whileSome faults appear only when the phone heats up

If touches appear in all cases and always in the same area, the display or its connector is the likely cause. If they appear only with one charger, replace the charger or cable.

Common fixes to try first

  • Restart the phone and install pending system updates.
  • Remove the screen protector and case, clean the glass with a dry microfibre cloth and test again.
  • Dry the phone if it has been in rain or a humid bathroom. Moisture on or under the glass can register as touches.
  • Try safe mode. On most Android phones, press and hold the power-off option on the screen to get it; the exact steps vary by brand. If ghost touches stop in safe mode, a recently installed app is the likely cause.
  • Look at the back and frame. A bulging back, a gap between screen and frame or a warm swollen spot can mean the battery is swelling. Stop charging it and take it to a service centre.

Taking the result to a repair shop

Tap Copy results on the right to copy a short summary with the number of ghost touches, when they happened and your screen size, and paste it into WhatsApp or an email for the service centre. A screenshot of the result map helps too. If the phone is under warranty, an authorised service centre is the right place for a display replacement. While you are at it, run the full touch screen test to look for dead zones, check the mic, and see every check on the phone tests page.

Frequently asked questions

Ghost touch kya hota hai?

Ghost touch tab hota hai jab phone ki screen bina chhue touch register kar leti hai: apps apne aap khulte hain, typing apne aap hoti hai ya screen scroll hoti hai. Yeh test chalakar phone neeche rakhiye; bina chhue jo touch record ho, wahi ghost touch hai.

How long should I run the ghost touch test?

Start with 1 minute. If ghost touches come and go, run 5 minutes, and once more while charging, since some only appear with a charger plugged in.

Ghost touch problem solution kya hai?

Pehle screen guard hatakar screen saaf kijiye, charger badal kar dekhiye aur phone restart kijiye. Safe mode mein bhi ghost touch ho raha ho to display ya uska connector kharab ho sakta hai; authorised service centre mein dikhaiye.

Can a screen protector cause ghost touch?

Yes. A cracked, lifted or badly fitted screen protector, or dust trapped under it, can press on the glass or confuse the sensor. Remove it and run the test again to compare.

The test logged one touch right at the start. Is that ghost touch?

Probably not. Your hand leaving the screen just as watching begins can count as a touch. Run the test again and put the phone down during the countdown. Repeated touches in the same place are the real warning sign.
