Holidays are from the Central Government list for 2027 (DoPT O.M. 12/2/2023-JCA, 16 July 2026). Festival dates can vary by region and by panchang, and Id dates depend on the moon, so check locally. Your details and logo stay in this browser; nothing is uploaded.

All 2027 Government holidays, already on the dates

Looking up a holiday list and then hunting for each date on a separate calendar is slow. This page opens the calendar maker with one month per page, so each date box carries the holiday or festival name inside it and the full list for the month sits below the grid. The first page is a cover with all the Central Government holidays of 2027 and the main festivals in one place.

Three kinds of days, three markings

  • Red dates in a pink box are the 17 holidays in Annexure I of the DoPT memorandum for 2027, observed by Central Government administrative offices in Delhi and New Delhi.
  • A coloured dot marks the 32 restricted holidays in Annexure II (an employee may take any two) and festivals we confirmed from two panchangs, such as Lohri, Hanuman Jayanti, Guru Purnima, Teej and Dhanteras.
  • Red date numbers without the box are Sundays, and also Saturdays if you choose "2nd Saturday", "2nd and 4th" or "All Saturdays".

Long weekends in 2027

With the DoPT dates and a Saturday-Sunday weekend, these holidays sit next to a weekend: Good Friday on 26 March, Mahavir Jayanti on Monday 19 April, Bakrid on Monday 17 May, and Diwali on Friday 29 October, followed by Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj on Saturday and Sunday. Holi falls on Tuesday 23 March, with Holika Dahan as a restricted holiday on Monday 22 March. Six of the 17 holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday, and the memorandum says no substitute holiday is given for them.

Why your state's list may look different

Central Government offices outside Delhi keep 14 compulsory holidays and choose three more from 12 optional festivals through the state coordination committee, so a Central Government office in Chennai or Guwahati may have Pongal or Bihu off instead of a festival on the Delhi list. State government offices, schools and banks follow their own notifications. Id dates are fixed in the list but may change after the moon is sighted. If you need your state's holidays on the calendar, add them in "Your own dates"; they get a star, so they stay separate from the Central list.

Printing tips for a holiday calendar

  • The monthly layout prints well on A4. Choose A3 if the calendar will hang far from where people sit.
  • Switch off "Festivals and restricted holidays" if you only want the 17 Government holidays, for example in an office.
  • Use "Full year, one page" for a single sheet to pin on a notice board; it lists the Government holidays and main festivals under each month.
  • The bottom of every page names the DoPT memorandum the dates come from, so anyone can check it.

Frequently asked questions

How many Government holidays are there in 2027?

For Central Government offices in Delhi and New Delhi, DoPT lists 17 holidays and 32 restricted holidays for 2027 (O.M. No. 12/2/2023-JCA, 16 July 2026). Two of the 17, Independence Day and Id-e-Milad, fall on Sunday 15 August.

Which 2027 holidays fall on a weekend?

In the DoPT list, Independence Day and Id-e-Milad (15 August) and Guru Nanak's Birthday (14 November) fall on a Sunday, and Gandhi Jayanti (2 October), Dussehra (9 October) and Christmas (25 December) fall on a Saturday. The memorandum says no substitute holiday is given when a holiday falls on a weekly off.

What is a restricted holiday?

A restricted holiday is an optional day off for Central Government employees: each employee may choose any two from the list of 32. The office stays open on those days.

Is this the bank holiday list?

No. Banks follow the Department of Financial Services and RBI notifications, which differ by state. Use the 'Saturdays off' option to mark the 2nd and 4th Saturdays if you want them on the calendar.

Are state holidays included?

No. Each state notifies its own list. Add your state's extra holidays in 'Your own dates', one per line, for example '14-04 Ambedkar Jayanti (state holiday)'.
