About the RRB ALP uploads
Assistant Loco Pilot recruitment under CEN 01/2026 covers 11,127 vacancies across all RRBs, and its selection runs through two CBTs, a computer-based aptitude test (CBAT), document verification and a medical exam. Before you even reach the main form, you answer a self-screening medical questionnaire on eyesight (including LASIK), hearing, speech and other conditions; the report it generates must later be signed by a general physician and an eye specialist from a government hospital or medical college and handed in on CBAT day. Your photo is captured live during the application, so wear dark clothing and keep spectacles off. The one image you upload is your signature, and SC/ST candidates who want the free sleeper-class pass also upload their caste certificate as a PDF under 400 KB.

How to resize your RRB ALP signature
- The RRB ALP size is already selected above.
- Upload a scan or clear phone photo of your signature on white paper.
- Drag and zoom so your signature fills the frame. Use Rotate if it is sideways.
- For the signature, keep Clean background on so the paper turns pure white and the ink stays dark.
- Press Download JPG. The result shows the exact pixel size and KB, within the RRB ALP limits.
Tips so your RRB ALP upload is not rejected
- Not following the live photo instructions in para 13.4 can lead to rejection of your candidature at any stage of the recruitment.
- Henna on hands or feet is discouraged because it obstructs biometric capture, and biometrics are recorded at every stage, with a mismatch allowing disqualification.
- Your signature must stay uniform at the exams, DV, medical and appointment; a capital, block or disjointed signature is not accepted.
- Misusing the free sleeper-class pass meant for SC and ST candidates can mean rejection, debarment from future RRB/RRC exams and legal action.
- Sign in black ink inside the space, and do not sign in capital letters unless the notice allows it.
- Open the downloaded file once to check it looks sharp before you upload it to the portal.

What is the signature size for RRB ALP?
700 × 400 px, 30–49 KB, JPG. The notice fixes only the KB range, so the pixel size is our suggested default. Sign with a black pen on plain white paper and keep "Clean background" on.
I applied for an RRB exam in 2025. Will my old photo and signature carry over?
Data from your earlier saved application can be fetched, including the Upload Profile Documents page for photo and signature. The ALP FAQ asks you to check all fetched pages for correctness before submitting for payment. Whatever you entered while creating your account, and the RRB you picked, stays locked.
What do I do if the live photo does not match?
The system checks your live photo automatically. On a failed match, the ALP form lets you download Annexure-IX once you have confirmed the declarations; have a Class-I Gazetted Officer sign it and upload it back as your identity proof. It is listed among the documents ALP applicants may need to upload.
Can I correct my signature after paying the fee?
Yes, but only during the modification window from 17 to 26 Jun 2026, by paying a non-refundable Rs. 250 for each occasion. After 26 Jun 2026, RRBs do not entertain any request to change information in the application.
Why is there no photo upload for RRB ALP?
The RRB ALP notice says the candidate's photograph is captured live during the application or exam process, so only the signature needs to be uploaded. Follow the instructions on the official portal for the live photo.
How do I check the size of my file before uploading?
The result box under the preview shows the exact pixel size and file size in KB. On a phone you can also open the file details in the Files or Gallery app. On a computer, right-click the file and open Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac).
What if my file is smaller than the minimum KB?
Small images can come out below the minimum even at full quality. This tool then adds a harmless comment block inside the JPG so the file reaches the minimum size, while the picture stays exactly the same.
