About the RBI Assistant uploads
RBI's Assistant recruitment for Panel Year 2025 offered 650 posts across the Bank's offices, and you could apply to one office only, choosing exam centres within that office's state. After the online Preliminary and Main exams comes a Language Proficiency Test in the official or local language of the state, with no exemptions. The form asks for four scanned files (colour photo, signature, left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration) and a live photo captured by webcam or by scanning a QR code on your phone. The declaration must be in your own handwriting and in English; visually impaired candidates who cannot write may get it typed and place their left thumb impression below it. You reach the photo and signature upload right after validating your basic details, before the rest of the form and payment.

How to resize your RBI Assistant photo and signature

Tips so your RBI Assistant upload is not rejected
- An application without a photograph and signature, or with an illegible or unclear photo, is not treated as a valid application by RBI.
- RBI accepts the declaration only in English and only in your own handwriting; one written by anybody else invalidates the application.
- The name on your call letter must exactly match your photo ID; a mismatch stops you sitting the exam, so women who changed their name after marriage should take special note.
- RBI may capture your photo, thumb impression or iris scan at various stages, and any inconsistency between captures leads to rejection of candidature.
- Use a recent colour photo with a plain light background and even light on your face, with no cap or dark glasses.
- Sign in black ink inside the space, and do not sign in capital letters unless the notice allows it.
- Open the downloaded file once to check it looks sharp before you upload it to the portal.

Can I replace my photo in the RBI Assistant edit window?
The edit window opens for 2 days after applications close, costs ₹200 and allows only one corrected resubmission. RBI lists the fields you can change: exam centre, father's name, mother's name and 10th/12th percentage. Photo and signature are not on that list, so check the uploads in the Preview tab before you click COMPLETE REGISTRATION.
Which photo do I fix on the RBI call letter?
Affix a recent, recognisable photograph, preferably the same one you uploaded at registration. Bring the call letter with an original photo ID and a photocopy of the same ID; the photocopy is handed in with the call letter, and the same applies at the Language Proficiency Test. Ration cards and learner's driving licences are not accepted as ID.
What if my thumb is injured on the day of biometric capture?
Tell the authorities at the test centre immediately. On your declaration, they can make an alternative arrangement, such as capturing other fingers or toes. RBI will not entertain complaints later if your biometric data does not match the data taken at the online test centre, and the verifying authority's decision is final.
Can I take the RBI Assistant photo with my phone?
Yes. Stand facing a plain light wall in daylight, hold the phone at eye level and take a sharp, front-facing photo. Upload it here, drag and zoom so your face fills the frame, and the tool saves it at the exact pixel size and KB range.
How do I check the size of my file before uploading?
The result box under the preview shows the exact pixel size and file size in KB. On a phone you can also open the file details in the Files or Gallery app. On a computer, right-click the file and open Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac).
What if my file is smaller than the minimum KB?
Small images can come out below the minimum even at full quality. This tool then adds a harmless comment block inside the JPG so the file reaches the minimum size, while the picture stays exactly the same.
