About the NEET PG uploads
NEET-PG is the NBEMS entrance test for MD, MS and PG Diploma seats, post-MBBS DNB and direct 6-year DrNB courses, and NBEMS Diploma courses. Its form asks for more images than most: a pre-saved colour photograph taken no more than three months ago, a full signature and a horizontal left thumb impression, the last two each made inside a 3.5 x 1.5 cm box on white paper. On top of that, you capture a real-time photograph through the webcam or in-built camera of the computer you are filling the form on, so check the camera works before you begin. NBEMS asks for formal clothes and a white background, and no spectacles, cap, stethoscope, makeup or ornaments. All images go in before you submit and pay; after the edit window closes, NBEMS checks them and asks you to replace any it rejects.

NEET PG photo and signature size (2026 notice)
| Upload | Size | File size | Format | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 350 × 450 px* | up to 79 KB | JPG | Official: recent colour photo (not more than 3 months old) on a white background, JPG/JPEG, size less than 80 KB, face at least 70-80% of the frame; full face, ears, neck and shoulders, neutral expression, no spectacles, cap, goggles, stethoscope, makeup or ornaments; no selfies. NBEMS sets no pixel size and no minimum KB; 350 x 450 px is the standard passport shape and 79 KB keeps the file under 80 KB. A real-time webcam photo is also captured in the form. |
| Signature | 276 × 118 px | up to 79 KB | JPG | Official: full signature (not initials) in blue/black ink inside a 3.5 cm wide x 1.5 cm high box on blank white unlined paper, scanned at 200 dpi, cropped to the box, JPG/JPEG, less than 80 KB. At the stated 200 dpi: 3.5 / 2.54 x 200 = 276 px, 1.5 / 2.54 x 200 = 118 px. No minimum KB is set; 79 KB keeps the file under 80 KB. |
| Left thumb impression | 276 × 118 px | up to 79 KB | JPG | Official: LEFT thumb, horizontal print with a blue/black ink pad inside a 3.5 cm wide x 1.5 cm high box on white paper, scanned at 200 dpi, cropped to the box, JPG/JPEG, less than 80 KB. At the stated 200 dpi: 276 x 118 px. No minimum KB is set; 79 KB keeps the file under 80 KB. |
*The notice fixes the KB range but not an exact pixel size, so the tool uses a suggested default that fits the range.

How to resize your NEET PG photo and signature
- The NEET PG size is already selected above. Switch between Photo, Signature, Thumb at the top.
- Upload a clear photo from your phone, or a scan or photo of your signature on white paper.
- Drag and zoom so your face (or signature) fills the frame. Use Rotate if it is sideways.
- For the signature, keep Clean background on so the paper turns pure white and the ink stays dark.
- Press Download JPG. The result shows the exact pixel size and KB, within the NEET PG limits.
Tips so your NEET PG upload is not rejected
- Uploading a selfie, or a saved photo older than three months, gets the photograph rejected; NBEMS prefers a studio photo taken in the last three months.
- If your appearance in the real-time webcam photo differs grossly from the uploaded photograph, NBEMS will reject the application.
- Wearing spectacles, a cap, goggles, a stethoscope around the neck, makeup or ornaments in the photo is not allowed, and digital retouching is not permitted either.
- Not replacing a rejected image during the Selective Edit Window leads to rejection of the application; NBEMS gives no further opportunity after that window.
- Use a recent colour photo with a plain light background and even light on your face, with no cap or dark glasses.
- Sign in black ink inside the space, and do not sign in capital letters unless the notice allows it.
- Open the downloaded file once to check it looks sharp before you upload it to the portal.

NEET PG photo and signature FAQs
What is the photo size for NEET PG?
350 × 450 px, up to 79 KB, JPG. The notice fixes only the KB range, so the pixel size is our suggested default. The resizer above is already set to this size.
What is the signature size for NEET PG?
276 × 118 px, up to 79 KB, JPG, as given in the official notice. Sign with a black pen on plain white paper and keep "Clean background" on.
What is the left thumb impression size for NEET PG?
276 × 118 px, up to 79 KB, JPG. Choose Thumb at the top of the resizer.
Can I replace my NEET-PG photo, signature or thumb impression after paying?
Yes, within set windows. Candidates whose payment succeeded could edit the form in the Edit Window (25-28 July 2026). After that, NBEMS checks every image and marks it Accepted or Rejected on the Image Scrutiny tab. During the Selective Edit Window (31 July to 10 August 2026) you re-upload only the rejected ones, and those can be checked again. Watch your email, including the spam folder.
Is my uploaded photo checked again on exam day?
Yes. NBEMS photographs you at the test centre when you register, at each bio-break and during the exam, and verifies your Face ID against those pictures and the photographs in your application. That is why the bulletin insists on a recent photo: an old one can cause a mismatch. Finger biometrics are also taken, so avoid henna or colour on your fingers.
Do I need a webcam to fill the NEET-PG form?
Yes. The system you use must be able to take your photograph through a webcam or in-built camera. Sit or stand against a white background in formal clothes, with bright light on your face but not on the camera, and click the Capture Photo button in the form. This live picture is in addition to the pre-saved photograph you upload.
Can I take the NEET PG photo with my phone?
Yes. Stand facing a plain light wall in daylight, hold the phone at eye level and take a sharp, front-facing photo. Upload it here, drag and zoom so your face fills the frame, and the tool saves it at the exact pixel size and KB range.
How do I check the size of my file before uploading?
The result box under the preview shows the exact pixel size and file size in KB. On a phone you can also open the file details in the Files or Gallery app. On a computer, right-click the file and open Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac).
