About the India Post GDS uploads
There is no written exam for Gramin Dak Sevak posts. Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster and Dak Sevak vacancies are filled from a system-generated merit list based on your Class 10 marks, so the online form is mostly about entering details exactly as your marksheet shows them. The only files you upload are a recent photograph and your signature; no certificates are attached at this stage. You first complete One-Time Registration with an OTP-verified mobile number and email, then fill the application, where the photo and signature section comes after choosing divisions and post preferences and before the preview and any fee. The photo should have a plain white or light background with your face filling most of the frame, and the notice asks you to avoid scanned photos and selfies. Your signature must be handwritten on white paper.

- Upload a clear photo from your phone, or a scan or photo of your signature on white paper.
- Drag and zoom so your face (or signature) fills the frame. Use Rotate if it is sideways.

Tips so your India Post GDS upload is not rejected
- Applications with blurred photographs, or with blurred or miniature signatures, are rejected, so check the preview before final submission.
- Typed or digital text in place of your signature is not accepted; sign on white paper with a black or blue pen and scan it.
- Uploading wrong or unnecessary documents can get your candidature rejected, as the form asks only for a photograph and signature.
- If your name, parents' names or date of birth do not match your Class 10 certificate, your candidature may get cancelled.
- Use a recent colour photo with a plain light background and even light on your face, with no cap or dark glasses.
- Sign in black ink inside the space, and do not sign in capital letters unless the notice allows it.
- Open the downloaded file once to check it looks sharp before you upload it to the portal.

India Post GDS photo and signature FAQs

320 × 400 px, 30–100 KB, JPG, as given in the official notice. The resizer above is already set to this size.
What is the signature size for India Post GDS?
300 × 120 px, 20–100 KB, JPG, as given in the official notice. Sign with a black pen on plain white paper and keep "Clean background" on.
Can I replace my GDS photo or signature after final submission?
Fix it before you submit. The notification says that if the preview of the photo or signature is unclear, you must upload revised images before final submission, and no request for correction or replacement will be entertained after that. The two-day edit window after the closing date is described as being for names, other data, marks and choice filling.
Do I need to upload my marksheet or certificates?
No. Only the photo and signature are uploaded. If you are shortlisted, you report to the Divisional or Unit Head within 15 days with originals and two sets of self-attested photocopies, such as your marksheet, identity proof, date of birth proof and a medical certificate. Missing the 15 days cancels your candidature.
Can I take the India Post GDS photo with my phone?
Yes. Stand facing a plain light wall in daylight, hold the phone at eye level and take a sharp, front-facing photo. Upload it here, drag and zoom so your face fills the frame, and the tool saves it at the exact pixel size and KB range.
How do I check the size of my file before uploading?
The result box under the preview shows the exact pixel size and file size in KB. On a phone you can also open the file details in the Files or Gallery app. On a computer, right-click the file and open Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac).
What if my file is smaller than the minimum KB?
Small images can come out below the minimum even at full quality. This tool then adds a harmless comment block inside the JPG so the file reaches the minimum size, while the picture stays exactly the same.
