About the CUET UG uploads
If you want an undergraduate seat at a Central University or one of the state and other participating universities, CUET (UG) is the common entrance test, held in 13 mediums. The image uploads sit inside the main application form, alongside choosing your universities, programmes and test papers, and fee payment comes after that step. The form takes a live picture of you through a webcam or phone camera; after that you add a recent colour passport-size photo on a white background. One detail catches people out: the CUET signature file is capped at 50 KB, half the 100 KB that NTA's NEET and JEE forms allow. A scanned identity proof is needed only if you are not verifying through Aadhaar or DigiLocker, and documents already in your DigiLocker can be uploaded straight into the form.

CUET UG photo and signature size (2026 notice)
| Upload | Size | File size | Format | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 350 × 450 px* | 10–200 KB | JPG | Official: recent scanned passport size photo in colour, 80% face (including ears, without a mask), white background, JPG/JPEG 10-200 KB. NTA sets no pixel size; 350 x 450 px is the standard 3.5 x 4.5 passport shape. A live photo is also captured in the form. An identity proof (only if not verifying through Aadhaar/DigiLocker) is also JPG/JPEG 10-200 KB. |
| Signature | 500 × 200 px* | 10–50 KB | JPG | Official: JPG/JPEG, 10-50 KB, clearly legible. NTA sets no pixel size; 500 x 200 px is a default wide enough to reach the 10 KB minimum. |
*The notice fixes the KB range but not an exact pixel size, so the tool uses a suggested default that fits the range.

How to resize your CUET UG photo and signature
- The CUET UG size is already selected above. Switch between Photo, Signature at the top.
- Upload a clear photo from your phone, or a scan or photo of your signature on white paper.
- Drag and zoom so your face (or signature) fills the frame. Use Rotate if it is sideways.
- For the signature, keep Clean background on so the paper turns pure white and the ink stays dark.
- Press Download JPG. The result shows the exact pixel size and KB, within the CUET UG limits.
Tips so your CUET UG upload is not rejected
- The CUET (UG) signature must be a JPG of 10-50 KB, so do not reuse a larger signature file made for another form without checking its size.
- Affixing or uploading wrong or morphed photographs or signatures on the application form, admit card or proforma is listed as Unfair Means.
- No admit card is issued where the application has an indistinct or doubtful photograph, or is unsigned.
- If the photo or signature on your admit card differs from the confirmation page, contact the NTA helpline at once; you still sit the exam with the downloaded admit card.
- Use a recent colour photo with a plain light background and even light on your face, with no cap or dark glasses.
- Sign in black ink inside the space, and do not sign in capital letters unless the notice allows it.
- Open the downloaded file once to check it looks sharp before you upload it to the portal.

CUET UG photo and signature FAQs
What is the photo size for CUET UG?
350 × 450 px, 10–200 KB, JPG. The notice fixes only the KB range, so the pixel size is our suggested default. The resizer above is already set to this size.
What is the signature size for CUET UG?
500 × 200 px, 10–50 KB, JPG. The notice fixes only the KB range, so the pixel size is our suggested default. Sign with a black pen on plain white paper and keep "Clean background" on.
Does a name mismatch between my Class 10 marksheet and Aadhaar affect my CUET (UG) application?
No. NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 FAQs say a difference in name between the Class 10 marksheet and the Aadhaar card will not affect your candidature, and an option to handle the mismatch is given during the online application.
Will a live photo that differs from my Aadhaar photo block my CUET (UG) form?
NTA reviews every such mismatch and informs the candidate by email or text message only if there is a major discrepancy. If you registered with an identity document other than Aadhaar, you may upload a signed and attested certificate of identity proof along with a recent, duly certified photograph.
Which photo and ID do I take to the CUET (UG) centre?
Take an extra copy of the same photo you uploaded, to paste on the attendance sheet, and the printed admit card with its self-declaration (undertaking) filled in. Add one original, valid, non-expired photo ID such as a school ID, PAN card, passport, Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar, Class 12 board admit card or bank passbook with photo.
Can I take the CUET UG photo with my phone?
Yes. Stand facing a plain light wall in daylight, hold the phone at eye level and take a sharp, front-facing photo. Upload it here, drag and zoom so your face fills the frame, and the tool saves it at the exact pixel size and KB range.
How do I check the size of my file before uploading?
The result box under the preview shows the exact pixel size and file size in KB. On a phone you can also open the file details in the Files or Gallery app. On a computer, right-click the file and open Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac).
What if my file is smaller than the minimum KB?
Small images can come out below the minimum even at full quality. This tool then adds a harmless comment block inside the JPG so the file reaches the minimum size, while the picture stays exactly the same.
