Resigning from a school, the considerate way
A teacher's resignation is different from an office one. There are students in the middle of a syllabus, registers to hand over, answer sheets to evaluate and, often, a school management that has to find a replacement. A good letter acknowledges this and shows how you will leave things in order.

What the teacher's letter covers

Notice periods in schools
Private schools usually set the notice period in the appointment letter, often as one or more months, and some ask for salary in lieu if you leave earlier. Government and aided school teachers follow their state's service rules, which have their own procedure. Check your own letter or rules; the tool simply adds the period you enter to your resignation date, and you can change the result.
