When PNG is the better choice
JPG is the everyday format for photos, but it was designed for pictures, not for text. When a page full of small letters, thin table borders or a chart is saved as JPG, faint smudges appear around every edge, and they get worse each time the image is saved again. PNG is lossless: every pixel is stored exactly, so black text on a white page stays black and white with clean edges. This page opens our PDF converter with PNG already selected.
Good reasons to pick PNG:
- Slides and reports. A page of a PDF pasted into PowerPoint, Google Slides or a Word file stays crisp when the slide is projected or zoomed.
- Diagrams, floor plans and charts with fine lines and small labels.
- Screenshots for help guides or to annotate later, because PNG can be edited and re-saved without losing quality.
- Forms you will print again, such as a blank application page you want to fill by hand.
For a photo-heavy PDF or a scanned document going on WhatsApp, JPG is usually the smarter pick, because the files are much smaller. You can switch format at any time on this page.
How to save PDF pages as PNG
- Choose the PDF. If it is locked with a password, type it when asked; it is checked on your device only.
- Leave the format on PNG and pick a resolution. 150 DPI suits screens; 300 DPI suits print.
- Keep All pages, or tap pages in the preview to skip the ones you don't need.
- Tap Download. One page is saved as a PNG file, several pages as a ZIP with names like
report-page-3.png.
Size and resolution guide
The pixel size of each image is the page size in inches multiplied by the DPI. An A4 page becomes 1240 × 1754 pixels at 150 DPI and 2480 × 3508 pixels at 300 DPI. PNG files grow quickly with resolution, so a text page at 300 DPI can run to a few MB, while a page with large photos can be bigger still. If a website limits the upload size, use 150 DPI or switch to JPG for that file.
Private and unlimited
The conversion runs in your web browser. The PDF is read from your device and the PNG images are saved straight back to it, so contracts, marksheets and financial statements are not sent anywhere. There is no sign-up, no daily limit and no watermark on the images. Pages keep their form field values and stamps exactly as they appear on screen, and very large pages such as posters are scaled down only if they would pass the roughly 16 megapixel limit that many phones have.

Frequently asked questions
Is PNG better than JPG for PDF pages?
For pages that are mostly text, tables, charts or line drawings, PNG looks sharper because it is lossless and leaves no blur around letters. For scanned photos, JPG is usually the better choice because the files are much smaller and the difference is hard to see.
Does the PNG have a transparent background?
No. Each page is saved on a white background, the way it looks in a PDF reader, so the image looks right wherever you paste it. If you need a transparent logo or signature, cut it out in an image editor afterwards.
Why are PNG files so much bigger than JPG?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, while JPG throws away detail the eye barely notices. A full A4 page at 300 DPI has almost 9 million pixels, so a PNG of it can be several MB. Use 150 DPI if you only need to read it on a screen.
Can I convert just one page to PNG?
Yes. Open the PDF and tap Save on that page's card, or choose pages and type its number. A single page downloads as one PNG file; several pages download together as a ZIP.
